XACT develops custom automation cordsets for equipment connections that need a defined fit. Our offering includes control, motor connection and encoder cable applications, with cable and connector arrangements reviewed around the machine or module.
An equipment module may have a straightforward electrical role and a very specific physical interface. The connector has to be accessible, the cable has to follow the available route, and the assembly has to arrive in the form the equipment build expects. A custom cordset brings these details into the supplied connection.
Connections shaped by the module
Lengths, connector arrangements and termination details can make the difference between a suitable standard part and an assembly that needs further work at installation. XACT supports custom electrical assemblies where the equipment calls for a coordinated configuration.
A motor connection and an encoder connection serve different functions, even when both terminate at the same machine module. Our cable assembly review addresses the required circuit and physical interface without assuming that one construction fits both. Protective features can be discussed where handling or the operating environment makes them relevant.
A defined item for repeat equipment builds
For an OEM, a cordset is part of the equipment configuration as well as a connection between endpoints. Supplying the required arrangement as an assembly gives the build a consistent item to reference. This can be useful for equipment variants with different module positions or service connections.
We support custom cable manufacturing with engineering review and prototype development as the application moves toward repeat production. The discussion can include connection access, routing and the protective construction needed around the terminations. Communication protocol certification and continuous-flex life are separate requirements, not automatic properties of a custom cordset.
Bring the connection into the equipment discussion
A useful cordset starts with the equipment it serves. XACT can review a module connection as a complete electrical assembly and discuss a manufacturing approach suited to its intended use. Tell us about your application through the Cable Assembly Tool.
